Brian D. Schmitt -
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director
Mr. Schmitt has worked in the banking industry in Atlanta for nearly twenty years. He has considerable experience in both business banking and the operation of financial institutions.
His banking career began in 1983 at Home Federal, FSB. He then spent four years as vice president of commercial real estate with Prime Bank, FSB, until it was acquired by SouthTrust Corporation in 1993. Mr. Schmitt spent the next seven years working with Premier Lending Corporation, which later became Premier Bancshares, Inc. He was integrally involved in conducting due diligence as Premier acquired numerous other financial institutions. In 1995, he was named executive vice president. Premier became one of the largest bank holding companies in Georgia and was acquired in 2000 by Branch Banking and Trust Corporation (BB&T).
